The more you use, the more you have.”

a part of one's soul remains un-awakened."

I'm Jo, a self taught coloured pencil artist living in the beautiful South Downs of England.

I fulfilled my dream of moving to the countryside in 2018  and feel very blessed to live in amongst so much natural beauty and inspiration.

I re-discovered drawing after 25 years, shortly after I moved.  I've  evolved a business that I can run from home, so I get to spend precious time with my son and my Greyhound.   I fell in love with coloured pencils - the meditative process of laying down multiple layers of pigment and slowly getting to know my subjects as they gradually emerge on paper.  Coloured pencil isn't a medium for the impatient!

Whether the subject is 2 or 4 legged, commissioning a portrait can be a profound and emotional undertaking.  It's a true priviledge to be entrusted with the task of immortalising a loved one.

I work mainly on commissioned portraits, but also keep some time free to work on my wildlife drawings.

Please peruse my portfolio and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  I hope you like what you see!
